Prosecutor: St. Louis Rapper’s Shooting Video Lacks Full Context
March 6, 2026

ST. LOUIS – A doorbell camera video showing a deadly shooting on a St. Louis doorstep has sparked debate online, but the city’s circuit attorney says the footage represents only a small part of the evidence investigators reviewed.

The video appears to show 19-year-old rapper J4 walking up to a rival’s home on S.13th Street and knocking on the door. Almost immediately, a man opens the door and begins firing.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore said, while the video is disturbing, the widely circulated clip does not capture everything investigators considered in the case.
